Black Box Becomes Contributing Member of SDVoE Alliance Leading Up to InfoComm 2019

Global IT and communications leader chooses SDVoE platform for next generation signal management product line

MONTREAL — May 1, 2019 — The SDVoE™ Alliance today announced that Black Box, a leading manufacturer of IT and pro AV solutions, has joined the alliance as a contributing member.

"The decision to join the SDVoE Alliance was simple for us at Black Box. SDVoE makes AV over IP what it is supposed to be — true network AV without sacrificing performance, functionality or capability," said Jonathan McCune, director of product management, AV & infrastructure at Black Box. "SDVoE is designed for modern network infrastructure and Black Box will play an active role in the valuable work the alliance is doing to educate and inform the market."

"As a trusted IT solutions leader for 40 years with a commitment to networked AV for more than a decade, Black Box will provide vast experience and expertise to the SDVoE ecosystem," said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. "We look forward to watching them help drive SDVoE's matrix transformation as their new products hit the market in the coming months."

Black Box will be exhibiting at InfoComm 2019 (Orlando, June 12-14, booth 2673). The SDVoE Alliance will be in booth 1143.

All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency and uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches, thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches, such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.

The alliance participates in tradeshows and conferences, publishes white papers and case studies and promotes SDVoE technology, and solutions based on the technology, to system integrators, designers and consultants. Training and installer certification are also part of the mandate. The SDVoE Alliance founding members are Aquantia, Christie Digital, NETGEAR, Semtech, Sony and ZeeVee.
