The affordably priced 3D HDMI CATx Extender makes it easy to extend digital video from a source to a distant 3D screen in a lobby or other high-traffic area.
Because the extender can transmit over solid copper cabling already installed in your building, it's easy to put your new 3D screens in spaces where your target audiences frequent—and you don't have to pull any new cables and/or sacrifice video quality in the process. It’s perfect for applications that require greater distance for high-quality video resolutions on HDTV and 3D displays.
Over a single dedicated CATx cable run, it extends 1080i or 720p video with 24-bit colour depth as far as 60 m and 24-bit Full HD 1080p video up to 40 m. And for 36-bit 1080p colour, it can go up to 20 m.
Configuration is minimal. You select your video and audio type, as well as activate the learning of EDID info from the remote display, using the 8-position rotary switch on the transmitter.
To minimise skew over long cable distances, the 3D HDMI CATx Extender features adjustable eight-level equalisation control on its receiver. Adjusting the equalisation strength optimises the video signal for transmitting greater distances between the source and display.
The extender supports high-quality sound, too. As part of the HDMI signal, it transmits DTS-HD and Dolby® TrueHD high-bit-rate audio and 7.1-channel surround sound audio.
Audio Support —Up to 7.1-channel surround sound or stereo digital audio
Controls — Equalisation: 8-level digital signal control using rotary switch on the receiver;
AV mode: 8-level control using rotary switch on transmitter
Distance (Maximum) — 24-bit colour depth: 1080p Full HD up to 40 m; 720p/1080i SHD: up to 60 m
Input DDC Signal — 5 volts (p–p, TTL)
Input TMDS Signal — 1.2 volts (p–p)
Resolutions Supported — 480i/480p, 720p, 1080i/1080p at 60 Hz up to 36-bit colour
Video Bandwidth —Single-link 225 MHz (6.75 Gbps)
Connectors — Transmitter: (1) HDMI input, (1) RJ-45 output (CATx interconnect);
Receiver: (1) HDMI output (1) RJ-45 input (CATx interconnect)
Power — For both the transmitter and receiver: AC input: 100–240 VAC, 50–60 Hz; DC output: 5 VDC, 2 amps;
Consumption: Transmitter: 4 watts (max.);
Receiver: 1.5 watts (max.)
Dimensions — Both transmitter and receiver units: 2.5H x 6.1W x 9.2D cm
Weight — Transmitter: 0.3 kg; Receiver: 0.2 kg
NOTE: Distance depends on the characteristics and quality of the cables and the type of HDMI source and display. Higher resolutions and longer transmission distances require low-skew cables (<25 ns/100 m) for best performance. We recommend using unshielded solid core CAT6 cable.
