The Fibre Optic Power Meter and LED Source Kit work together to measure power loss in fibre cable, connectors, attenuators or other passive optical components.

Calibrated at four wavelengths, the meter measures power levels as high as +20 dBm and as low as -60 dBm. It features a true resolution of 0.01 dBm at all levels so you can trust measurements below -45 dBm. It also provides response time up to five times faster than other units. In fact, at most levels, readings are instantaneous.

In relative measurement mode, the meter stores the zero reference reading for all four wavelengths independently in nonvolatile memory, so you can turn it off to save battery life as you move between testing locations. The meter also displays a 1- dB analogue-type deviation pointer and an unaveraged mini display for real-time splice tuning.

The meter stores up to 999 test results per wavelength, which can be uploaded to a PC.

The LED source splits the temperature-stabilised light output the power meter requires.

It provides output wavelengths of 850 nm and 1300 nm through dual LEDs, which can be operated one at a time or simultaneously in CW, 30 Hz, 500 Hz or 2 kHz modulation.
