What is Digital Signage?

Digital signage is a way of controlling and displaying content, both locally and/or remotely, for playback across one or more display screens. It is often used for delivering visual messages and/or audio in public places. In its simplest form it would compromise of one media player displaying a message on one screen, but can be extremely complex and involve numerous screens displaying different multimedia content in different locations, at different times, all controlled remotely from one place.

Digital Signage will often consist of some or all of these parts

• A Screen or screens
• Digital Signage Software
• Distribution and Extension products
• Audio
• Mounting Kits & Cabling

The digital signage market continues to grow as more and more businesses realise its potential and what it can do for them, whether it is simply a provider of up to date information or a method of revenue generation. This rise in the popularity of digital signage is also helped by the decreasing price of the components and the increase in their quality.
