Black Box Network Services (UK) Ltd. was set up in 1988 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Black Box Corporation based in Pittsburgh, USA. The Black Box UK office is situated in Reading, Berkshire, and is the largest subsidiary outside of the USA.

Black Box Corporation
Black Box Corporation is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA and was co-founded over 35 years ago by Gene Yost and Dick Raub in 1976. The company began selling connectivity devices—the "little black boxes"—that customers needed to connect their primary communications products. The company was originally called Expandor, Inc., but it soon changed to Black Box because customers came to know the company by its catalogue name.

Headquartered in scenic Lawrence, Pennsylvania, 20 miles south of Pittsburgh, Black Box is now a leading worldwide distributor of computer communications equipment and technical support services with representatives in more than 100 countries.

The company's success is firmly rooted in the original vision. To create a "central, reliable source for hard-to-find products and technical skill".

Black Box is unique, distinguished by its superior technical support and customer services. Black Box has also merged with onsite communications cabling and voice services companies throughout America and Western Europe, making them the largest infrastructure provider in the world. Black Box's services now include not only FREE hotline technical support but also on-site network infrastructure services such as structured cabling, design, installation, and maintenance plus voice services.

The Black Box Catalogue
Our Catalogue is famous throughout the industry. When the first Black Box Catalogue rolled off the presses in early 1977, it had just 16 pages and contained 9 products. Today the multi-award winning Black Box Catalogue—an enormous 700+ page book—features more than 10,000 products and has international versions published in 8 languages. We have also produced several mini catalogues throughout the years too!
